SBA and Hispanics join forces to provide access to capital to entrepreneurs
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO), Friday, June 3, as part of the Access to Capital seminar during the HCCMO Hispanic Business Conference and Expo.

The purpose of the SAM agreement is to develop a mutual understanding and a strong working relationship between SBA and the HCCMO to foster small business development and expansion, especially within Florida's Hispanic communities. The SAM will remain in effect for two years.
"Strategic alliances are critical to assure that all entrepreneurs have the tools and resources they need to succeed. The alliance forged with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando represents the SBA's dedication to engaging the small business ecosystem by creating inclusion and accessibility to resources for all entrepreneurs," says Cassius F. Butts, Regional Administrator, U.S. Small Business Administration.
The groups will work together to plan and conduct presentations/workshops that provide outreach to the membership and community at large. The groups have a shared goal of increasing entrepreneurship and supporting entrepreneurs with their growth through lending, counseling, and mentoring. Increasing government contracting opportunities will also be a priority for the groups.
"This alliance greatly strengthens both organizations' core mission of economic development. It lays the groundwork for our future partnership and will ensure that entrepreneurs in the Metro Orlando area have the tools they need to start and grow businesses and create jobs. I am pleased to execute this MOU that formalizes our two organizations working together in the best interest of the Central Florida business community," stated HCCMO Vice President, María García.
"We are proud of our partnership with the SBA to increase the resources available for our members and strengthen our local economy," added Lourdes Mola, HCCMO Board Chair.
